My Sources

Just to keep myself accountable I would like to share what sources I use when I look up definitions of Greek, Hebrew or English. I would never, ever want to give anyone the wrong information about God!!!! I welcome critiques of my research and if you know I am wayyyyyy off on something, please, please let me know.

So my main Bible, the one that is marked up and I've been using for years is NIV. I have the Key Word study Bible NIV, which is awesome, and really got me digging into words. I also use Strong's Exhaustive Concordance and Vine's Expository Dictionary of OT/NT words. I have Merriam Websterdownloaded on my phone and I also use the old fashioned books too:  The American Heritage Dictionary Fourth Edition and Webster's New Thesaurus. I also use internet sources to look at different translations - You Version, Blue Letter Bible, and  Bible Gateway.  My favorite go to source of all is Biblehub.com.  If you can't find what you're looking for there, you probably need to go to Jerusalem.

I'm not a scholar and have had no official language courses. I did take a conversational Greek class given taught by an Orthodox Greek priest a few years back and that's the extent of my language learning. All I have is the desire to look up words and understand them the best I can.

I'm so thankful to be living in this technological age where I can dig deeper into God's Word! I am also thankful that I can read and study it. There are women in other parts of the world who aren't allowed to do such things! Thank God I live in a country where I can!
